Whenever my stomach starts to hurt or bloat, I brew ginger tea, blend it in a smoothie, or, when things really get bad, eat it straight. It has a warming-cooling sensation that soothes my stomach, like a blanket.
I'm not alone here, since ginger has been proven to boost the immune system, calm stress, aid DNA reconstruction, ease nausea, migraines, headaches, and PMS, and speeden muscle recovery. According to Dr. Greger M.D. and author of How Not To Die, the bible of nutritional actual factals, when "researchers pitted one-eighth teaspoon of powdered ginger head-to-head against 400 mg of ibuprofen, the ginger worked just as effectively as the leading drug” (NutritionFacts.org).
Plus, this smoothie feels like a soothing tum blanket, is super hydrating, and just sweet enough.
