ABOUT MADDIE

Client-Focused. . .

Entrepreneurial, enthusiastic and client-focused, Maddie McCann has over four years professional experience in digital advertising for powerhouse entertainment brands, Disney, Amazon Frevee, and Amazon MGM. Wanting to learn how Amazon launches a new product - the streaming service, Freevee - she became a Digital Partnerships Strategist where she halved the app’s Cost Per Install within a year and planned Freevee’s major rebrand campaign. For MGM, she used data-driven investment recommendations to drive theatrical ticket sales across programmatic, audio, video, YouTube, display, CTV, and custom tactics in an ever-changing entertainment environment.

Maddie loves using her management skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and collaborative nature to solve problems. Most energized by building relationships, she thrives in an environment where analytical and interpersonal skills are needed for effective questioning, to share solutions that drive ROI, build trust with stakeholders, and maintain relationships.

Maddie is based in LA and recently completed the LA Marathon in collaboration On Running x Venice Run Club. THE MADDIE WAY

#TheMaddieWay
A Blog, Brand, Resource, and Lifestyle

The Maddie Way (AKA #TheMaddieWay), is a blog, brand, resource, and lifestyle. Here, I curate my perspectives on the intersection of wellness and media. From tips for managing chronic pain to to thoughts on the wellness industry to sustainable recipes, The Maddie Way encapsulates the practices and perspectives of food, well-being, and culture.

The Maddie Way is constantly evolving. Here, peek into my current lifestyle, with a focus on wellness, cuisine, and empowerment. Empowerment takes many forms: media literacy, networking, moving to find your strength, and eating what feels good.

This site and #TheMaddieWay are held upon the following pillars:

  • Sustainable and approachable clean living

  • Mind-body connections meeting intersectional feminism

  • Intuition meeting research from medical and nutrition professionals

The Maddie Way encapsulates three types of information

  • Tangible Takeaways: the quick and dirty insights that can be used as a launching pad for any topic of discussion. Think "Email a hiring manager X,Y, and Z" rather than just telling the reader to "Email the HM."

  • Subjective Specifics: the specific things that work for Maddie, but may differ for the reader. This is a disclaimer in response to the frustrating amount of unbacked wellness knowledge in social media.

  • Actual Factuals: an indication that Maddie has done her f** homework. If a subjective specific is backed by science, this is how you'll know.

A little history. The Maddie Way was coined by my Aunt Terry, with whom I lived when I graduated from college with no job, no housing, and no clue what I was doing next. Though she was my aunt, we didn’t know each other well. Quickly, however, we fell into a comfortable symbiotic pattern: Aunt Terry loved to grocery shop and I loved to cook. I joked that I paid my “rent” through freshly made, healthy dinners. Two weeks after living with her, she told me, “Maddie, since you’ve been here, I haven’t had to take heartburn medicine once!” This was a major compliment considering that she usually took three a week. Often, I’d be figuring out a recipe in a kitchen and Terry would say, “I’m just observing The Maddie Way.” She was my biggest fan and helped point out the little “hacks” that I take for granted and highlighted how they made her think differently about cooking. For example, once, after making a vinaigrette, I threw the squeezed lemon halves in my water glass for a little spa water. Terry said, “I would have just thrown those out. See, this is all part of The Maddie Way.” For years, I’ve talked myself out of formalizing my habits and perspectives because I’d tell myself, “who needs another white woman health blog?” Terry allowed me to recognize the value in my approach to eating to feel good and how that can be valuable to others.

The future of The Maddie Way is unwritten. Whether it becomes a company or a series, the sky's the limit. Thank you for joining me on it’s evolution.

Now, come for the salads. Stay for the social commentary.
